3. Connect the disk drive cable of the next drive to the port on the back of the disk drive you just connected and tighten the thumbscrews.

Reminder: If you're connecting drives of different types, be sure to connect all Apple 3.5 Drives before connecting any Apple 5.25 Drives.

4 Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each additional drive you want to connect.
Keep in mind that you shouldn't daisy-chain more than four drives to the disk drive port—no more than two Apple 3.5 Drives and no more than two Apple 5.25 Drives.
The daisy chain of disk drives connected to the disk drive port should be arranged as shown in the Figure 1-13.

5. If you have more than one drive of a given type, use the labels that came with the drives to specify which is drive 1 (the first drive in the chain) and which is drive 2 (the second drive in the chain).
