You can use the Control Panel to change the volume level of the sounds your computer produces and to change the pitch of the computer's beep. Follow these steps:

1. Select the Sound icon.
Click the Sound icon to select it. The Sound options appear in the column on the right.

2. Drag the scroll box in the scroll bar on the left to adjust the volume.
When you release the mouse button, you'll hear a beep at the new volume level. (If you set the volume to the lowest setting, the screen's border will flash instead.) Experiment until you find the setting you like best.

3. Drag the scroll box in the scroll bar on the right to adjust the pitch.
When you release the mouse button, you'll hear a beep with the new pitch. Experiment until you find the setting you like best.
