I agree that the above games are addictive. I just forgot to mention them :)
Castle wolfenstein is >SO< addicitive and fun that I played it for 8 hours straight at one point :)
A special mention must go to the game Rescue Raiders. This game was truly ahead of its time in the area of animation and strategy.
