Logging onto Apple IIe hard drive

We have many files on an Apple IIe hard drive that we cannot access. These files are needed. Please could anyone tell us how to access the hard drive. We have a startup disk and a program disk, these seem to work but we cannot access out hard drive, which is a Rodive.
