I was flipping through one of the many books that came with my Apple 2c and, lo and behold, I came across a piece of paper that said "you can expand your NEW Apple 2c's memory up to 1 megabyte" If any one wants a copy I'll see if I can E-mail it to you if you could leave your details I'll try and catch up with you.
