I know what you mean - I had a hard time finding GShrinkit in a useable format. Basically, If you don't have an archiver then it's a bit difficult to use SHRINKIT to unpack a SHRINKIT archive. So the default format is distributed in BSC (BinSCII) for convenience.

I was looking around my disk box and I found a copy of GSHK in SEA (Self Extracting Foramt) for GSOS (System 5 or higher). This is a format not unlike that found on the Mac - you simply execute it on the desktop. Make sure it's transferred as a binary file.
